Crisp with a burst of fresh citrus.
I have mentioned in the past that I love, love, love wines from Chile! I have a crush on both red and white varietals from the Maule and Colchagua Valleys.
I recently acquired this bottle from my treasured Wine Club. I knew immediately once I was handed the bottle that I would enjoy this sauvignon blanc for sure. In the glass the color was the unmistakeable pale yellow of a sauvignon blanc. I swirled the glass and immediately smelled the aromas of grass clippings and citrus fruits.
My first sip I tasted grapefruit and lime, then on the finish I picked up hints of pineapple and mineral notes. I paired this wine with my eggplant caponata and the flavors married together nicely.
I am a fan of this 2014 Evolución Sauvignon Blanc. I’ll be adding it to my summertime wine list for sure!
