Handsome Malbec, you speak to my heart!
The following description comes directly from the Montes website describing their Malbec.
Ruby red color, leaning to dark, intense red. Powerful, but with elegant flavors of plum and blackberry. A lovely butterscotch and slight spiciness is well integrated with subtle notes of vanilla from the oak ageing. A full-bodied wine, with ripe tannins and voluptuous mid-palate and a long, very enjoyable, finish.
I couldn’t have said it any better. This Chilean brute of a malbec has stolen my heart. I enjoyed the smooth flavors of fruit and spice, and I loved the lingering, buttery oak finish. The color in the glass was a midnight purple, dark and rich. The tannins were soft but structured to give a nice punch of flavor. Lingering flavors of cherry and vanilla with toasty oak rounded out the sip.
I love malbec’s. I love malbec’s from Chile. And they love me too…I think.

That speaks highly to me when purchasing wines. I tend to gravitate towards these wine makers more often.
